Viridine Literary, founded in 2024 and based in the South of England, exists as a space to showcase talent and amplify the voices of new, emerging, and established writers. Having taken note of the abundance of literary magazines and journals focused on youth and young writers, the founding editors Romy and Roger (both arguably beyond their youth) wanted to ensure the same opportunities could be offered to older writers as well. 'New or emerging', after all, is not necessarily synonymous with 'young'.

Romy and Roger, while lifelong writers, were decidedly mature when they made their decisions to move towards creative writing in a professional capacity. This is why Viridine Literary is particularly keen to encourage elder (over age 30) creatives to share their work with us. Talent and creativity are age-inclusive, and we believe age should not be a barrier to success.
